"We" refers to me, Andrew, an aspiring music composer and my wife, Lori, an aspiring novelist/screenwriter. We hope that the thoughts, opinions, info we share via this blog will reach other creative people with similar dreams and interests and "strike a note" in their minds and hearts -- or at least give them a legitimate excuse (i.e., reading this blog), when they stray from the task that should always be first at hand for any artist -- create, create create. Write, write, write. Compose, compose, compose. Pen in hand, fingers on keyboard (laptop or synthesizer). When you can't think of anything to type - type the alphabet. When the melody doesn't blaze across the keys with lightening speed, run the scales.
Simply put: Write anything. Play anything. Every day. The flame will ignite. Eventually.
And remember: Throwing fits, raiding the fridge and channel surfing will NOT fill pages with words and staff lines with notes. Only the writer or musician physically creating material will accomplish these tasks.
Are we published yet? No. Is this the year to realize that dream? You bet. Do we think a lot of other artists are out there in the same boat - waiting for the muse - praying for the "big break"? You bet, again!
As we press on toward our goal - we thought we'd jump on the blog bandwagon. We'd like to share articles/thoughts on pianos, keyboards, and other music equipment. As well as throw in some novel reviews, movie reviews, some poetry, and maybe some general thoughts on life.
If it "strikes a note" for us, maybe it will "strike a note" with you. Let us know -- till then, enjoy life, keep writing, keep playing, keep reaching for your dreams!
(Look for our upcoming blog in which we review the "powerhouse" of all synthesizers - the KORG OASYS and the books "Daniel Isn't Talking" and "Dying Young" by Lori's favorite author, Marti Leimbach.)
